Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the working environment on a catamaran during its sotppage or very low speed travelling, by mounting thereon partial fins, which open and close plural openings formed in pitch-restraining fins.
CONSTITUTION: In each pitch-restraining fins 15 is formed plural openings 16, which extend vertically therethrough. Each partial fin 17 is pivotably mounted on a horizontal transverse axis 18 so as to open or close its corresponding opening 16. Each partial fin 17 is fixedly mounted on the axis 18, which extends into its corresponding lower pontoon body 4 through the pitch-restraining fin 15 and the fins 17 are simultaneously rotated by a rotational operation of their respective axes 18 by a common driving mechanism therefor. In this way, a large pitching of the catamaran and the accompanied wave shocks to the lower surface of an upper stracture 2 of the catamaran, are reduced, and the boarding comfortability and working environment are thus improved.
