Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain good quality of and stable casted materials in a wide range from thin to thick die-casted materials, by measuring the shot plunger speed at every casting shot and by controlling the shot plunger speed within a prescribed range by comparing the measured speed and the set speed.
CONSTITUTION: The shot is started at step 101, and the time required to pass through the shot high-speed reading section is measured at step 102, and then the shot speed is operated at step 103. The measured speed is compared with the set speed at step 104, and when the measured speed is out of the allowable range, an NG signal is outputted. At step 105, this NG signal is received, and, when the NG signal is continuously outputted for a set times, a YES signal is delivered to step 106. The mean value and set value is operated at step 106 and compared at step 107. When the mean value is out of the allowable range, the NG signal is delivered to step 108. At step 108, adjustment on the opening of shot speed adjusting valve is made, and after the shot speed is adjusted so that it is in the set allowable range, the procedure returns to step 101, and then the next shot is commenced.
