Abstract

PURPOSE: To control automatically the molding level to the target level, by constituting the tundish nozzle in the SN system consisting of a fixed plate and two sliding plates and by adjusting finely and controlling sliding of one sliding plate by the detection signal of the molding level.
CONSTITUTION: The casting nozzle by which the molten metal is injected from tundish 1 to the continuous casting mold is constituted by fixed plate 2 and two sliding plates 3 and 4. When this nozzle is used to inject the molten metal into the mold, both sliding plates 3 and 4 are moved horizontally by driving cylinders 7 and 6 to adjust the casting quantity of the molten metal. In this case, the level of the molten metal in the mold is detected by molding level detector 9, and sliding plate 4 is adjusted finely and slided on a basis of this detection signal by driving cylinder 7 to control the level of the molten metal in the mold to the target position. When the relative opening between sliding plates 4 and 3 is adjusted, sliding plate 3 or fixed plate 2 is adjusted to control it.
