CONSTITUTION:This is a method for refining of, for example, acrylic-acid-base electro-deposition coating paint liquid which has been in electro-deposition coating and contains silver ions as impurities. If this liquid is treated with an iminodiacetic acid type cation exchange resin of which 50-100% of the entire exchange capacity is amine type, silver ions are completely removed. The cation exchange resin of amine type is obtained by washing an H type resin with an amine soln. which is used as electro-deposition coating paint such as triethanol amine or dimethyl methanol amine.
