Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the leakage reactance of a heater for fluid in a pipe by utilizing induction heating of the fluid passed through the pipe by forming a magnetic circuit with an iron core and preferably retaining the magnetic coupling between the induction coil and the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An induction coil 5 corresponding to primary coil is wound in a solenoid shape via an electric insulator 7 around the central leg of 3-leg iron core 6, and a pipe 8 for flowing fluid to be heated corresponding to secondary coil is wound in a solenoid shape around the induction coil 5. The periphery of the pipe 8 is covered with heat insulating material 9, and the respective turns of the pipe 8 are electrically coupled therebetween with shortcircuit piece 10 at the periphery thereof. When an AC current is flowed in the induction coil 5 in operation, a voltage is induced in response to the number of turns of the pipe 8 with respect to the induc- tion coil 5, Joule heat is generated in the pipe 8 due to the induction current flowing on the basis of the voltage, and the fluid flowing through the pipe 8 is heated by this heat.
