Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from scattering, by changing the positions of the magnets at inside of a developer feed roller in the developing time or nondeveloping time, and stopping feed of the developer in the time of nondeveloping. CONSTITUTION:A developing device is provided with developing roller 14, developer feed roller 8, developer stirring rollers 5, 6, and doctor 22. In developing operation, magnets 11-13 in roller 8 are located in the position for conveying the developer. When out of operation, shaft 10 turns, for example, by 180 deg. to stop feed of the developer to roller 14, thus permitting formation of a magnetic brush to be prevented, and exchange of the developer to be facilitated by likewise operating also in exchange of it.
