Abstract
PURPOSE:To simply perform chrome analysis of high reliability based on the presence of coloration and the strength thereof by electrifying a sample metal material through the intermediary of aquiferous material containing a specific reagent and by making the reagent react with chrome ion extricated from the metal material. CONSTITUTION:The end 5 of the anode of a power source 2 is made to contact with the metal material 1 to be analyzed in such a manner that the material can be electrified, electroconductive tweezers 4 is connected to the end of the cathode of the power source 2, the tweezers 4 are made to hold absorbent cotton 3 impregnated with mixture solution of sulfuric or phosphoric acid solution of diphenylcarbazide and of sodium fluoride solution and to contact with the metal material 1 so as to form a circuit through the intermediary of the material 1, and the circuit is electrified for about five seconds by a prescribed current. By this, chrome ion is eluted into the mixture solution with which the absorbent cotton 3 is impregnated in the case when the metal material 1 contains chrome and shows coloration in reaction with the diphenylcarbazide. Therefore, the presence of the chrome in the metal material can be discriminated and further, according to the strength of coloration, the content of chrome can also be measured.
