CONSTITUTION:Since the zero-order diffracted light of the modulator 5 is proportional to the light of the primary diffracted light used actually as write-in light, the gain control of the modulation signal of the modulator 5 is made with the peak voltage according to the light amount of the zero-order diffracted light detected and stored in the peak holding circuit 16. Thus, the amount of light for write-in can always be stored constant. Further, by also detecting the zero-order diffracted light of the modulator 5 with the photodetector 14, the recording of image can be made without giving any hindrance to the optical path of the primary diffracted light.
