Abstract
PURPOSE: To make uniform the temperature distribution within a heat exchanger by providing projections for deflecting the outer layer stream of a heat exchanging fluid towards an inward direction, on the inner wall part opposing the nest of heat transfer tubes of a casing.
CONSTITUTION: Projections 4 for deflecting the outer layer stream a" of the heat exchanging fluid A which tends to flow along the side wall 3 towards an inward direction, are formed at the inner wall part opposing the nest 2 of heat transfer tubes of a casing 1. By the projections 4 the outer layer stream a" of the heat exchanging fluid blowing within the casing 1, which tends to flow along the casing side wall, and passed through the outer heat transfer tube part of the nest 2 of heat transfer tubes in a zigzag manner. Therefore, the conventional bypass stream a' between the casing side wall 3 and the nest 2 of heat transfer tubes can be eliminated, whereby the temperature distribution within the heat exchanger can be unified.
