Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate particles in exhaust gas to prevent air pollution by providing an electrostatic filter which is constituted by a discharge plate and a dust catching plate in the purifier and also by providing a high voltage generator which impresses high voltage on the electrostatic filter.
CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic filter 4 which is constituted of a discharge plate 4a and a dust catching plate 4b is provided in a purifier body 1 which is connected with an exhaust pipe 3a of a silencer 3 of the engine. The electrostatic filter 4 discharges electricity between the discharge plate 4a and the dust catching plate 4b by the high voltage conducted by a high voltage generator 7, a rectifier 6, and a high pressure cable 5 to absorb tar particles and various particles at the dust catching plate 4b. The air pollution can be thus prevented, and the tar which is considered to be carcinogenic can be eliminated.
