Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture an Mn-Al-C alloy magnet for external magnetization with superior magnetic characteristics which are equal in a plane direction by subjecting a polycrystalline Mn-Al-C alloy magnet with uniaxial anistropy to warm free compression working in the anisotropic direction.
CONSTITUTION: A polycrystalline Mn-Al-C alloy magnet easy to magnetize in specified one direction is subjected to warm free compression working in the direction by ≥-0.1 logarithmic strain by a known method such as warm extrusion at 550W780°C. After this warm free compression working, this working can be carried out while regulating the side for each purpose. Thus, an Mn-Al-C alloy magnet for external magnetization is obtd. This magnet has superior magnetic characteristics in all directions in a two-dimensional plane perpendicular to the compressed direction.
