CONSTITUTION:An oxide or sulfide or complex metal oxide 2 with aluminum of an electrically insulative alkali earth element having low work function and high melting point is formed as a porous adhesion layer 2' on a DC type PDP cathode basic metal 1 through such as plasma ejection. Consequently a DC type PDP having low operating voltage and power consumption can be easily manufactured without requiring the high temperature heating process when compared with conventional one.
