Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the measurement in a short time by using a small quantity of squeezed liquid, by providing the base prism to the sample cell as a contacting liquid face of the sample and combining the electrical and automatic polarimeter with electrical automatic refractometer using said cell as a common cell. CONSTITUTION:The electrical and automatic polarimeter is composed of the condenser lens 2, polarizer 4, Faraday cell 5, sample cell 6, light detector 7 and photomultiplier tube 8, and the measurement is automatically performed by the electrical apparatus containg the pulse motor 9, VF converter 13. Further, the base prism 18 is provided to the cell 6 and the refractometer is formed by combining the light projecting system composed of the half mirror 3, condenser lens 17 and prism 18 with the integral network 20, arithmetic circuit 21 by the photosensitive element 19. Accordingly, measurement can be performed by the same inspection liquid by acting the polarimeter and refractometer at the same time and also, the content and purity of cane sugar can be measured accurately and effectively.
