Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease memories and processing circuits by dividing the picture element densities of input picture elements A, B in a main scanning of sub-scanning direction to 3 levels, 0, 1, 2, incorporating 3 levels 0, 1, 3 for the picture element densities of output picture elements (a), (b), and converting these to twice picture element densities by a specific conversion system. CONSTITUTION:At the time of interpolation performing digital image processing, the picture element densities of input picture elements A, B in a main or sub- scanning direction are segmented to 3 levels, 0, 1, 2 and the picture element densities of output picture elements (a), (b), are converted 3 levels, 0, 1, 2, twice picture element densities according to the conversion logic of 1-9. This conversion circuit is constituted of two RAMs, an FF circuit, a controller, an ROM and logic circuits, whereby memories and processing circuits are reduced.
