PURPOSE:To detect temperature and humidity with high sensitivity and high reliability by making porous dielectric ceramics of metal oxide whose dielectric constant relies on temperature. CONSTITUTION:A temperature-sensitive and humidity-sensitive element 1 is formed of the dielectric ceramics 2 prepared by making porous the dielectric of metal oxide whose dielectric constant relies on temperature and of electrodes 3 fitted on both surfaces of the ceramics 2. For the dielectric ceramics 2 is used the dielectric ceramics of metal oxide containing at least one kind out of a group comprising ceramics of metal monooxide, ceramics of spinel, ceramics of perovakite, ceramics of tungsten bronze and ceramics of pyrochroite.
