Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable soda silica glass plate or the like to be firmly bonded by mixing low m.p. amorphous glass having a specified composition with amorphous glass having an m.p. slightly higher than that of the former glass in a specified ratio to provide a lowered seal bonding temp.
CONSTITUTION: Low m.p. amorphous glass A consisting of, 80W90wt% PbO, 10W15% B2O3, ≤5% ZnO, ≤3% SiO2 and ≤3% Al2O3 is mixed with amorphous glass B having an m.p. slightly higher than that of glass A and consisting of, by wieght, 72W80% PbO, 7.5W14.0% B2O3, 2W10% ZnO, 0.5W3% SiO2, 0.5W3% Al2O3, ≤3% CuO and 1.5W3% Bi2O3 in a ratio of 5W50 to 95W50. Glass A has large α and glass B has small α. Accordingly, glass B melts in glass A when they are mixed, and a low m.p. glass composition with lowered apparent viscosity, high fluidity and high bonding strength is obtd.
