Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the excessive-length processing of splicing by connecting tubes to a supporter fitted to one end of an optical fiber cable and by drawing optical fiber wires from the tubes along the surface of a spongelike supporting body provided in the supporter. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber wires 3, drawn out of optical fiber cable 1 to a sufficient length, is drawn out via tube 5 fitted previously to supporter 2 along a groove made in the surface of spongelike supporting body 4 in supporter 2. Drawn fiber wire 3 is spliced by deposition to wire 3' of optical fiber cord 7 drawn out from another device side and then fixed with code connection tube 6. The excessive length at that time is absorbed through the expansion of spongelike supporting body 4. Therefore, its excessive-length processing is facilitates and the need for a terminal-formed part is eliminated, so that high-density loading is made possible.
