Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce eccentric loading on the fixed part of a shaft by providing two or more communication holes symmetrically to the line passing the center of an impeller in order to communicate a vortex chamber with a selfsuction working chamber.
CONSTITUTION: On the fore bulkhead 16, communication holes 18 communicating with a gas/water mixture passage 11 at No.2 casing 3 are installed symmetrically to the line passing the center of the impeller 20 in order to lead out to the passage 11 the gas/water mixture formed in a vortex chamber 15 by rotation of the impeller 20 at the starting time of the pump. The gas/water mixture in the vortex chamber 15 flows out to the passage 11 diffused vertically as the communication holes 18 installed symmetrically to the line passing the center of the impeller 20 in other places than the lower part of the vortex chamber 15, so that the thrust force applied radially to the bearing part of the impeller 20 is well balanced and eccentric wear of the bearing part can be prevented effectively.
