Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a steel sheet plated by molten Al), having low yield point, excellent workability and oxidation resistance at high temp., by degassing molten low carbon steel contg. a specific quantity of Ti to manufacture slab, by hot rolling and cold rolling the slab to produce steel sheet, then by plating the steel sheet with molten Al.
CONSTITUTION: Low carbon steel comprising 0.001W0.020% C, 0.05W0.30% Mn, 0.05W0.50% Cr, 0.01W0.10% Al, 0.10W0.50% Ti, of which Ti content being at least ten times the content of C, is melted in a converter, and decurburized and denitrided by vacuum degassing to manufacture slab. Said slab is continuously hot rolled to make steel sheet, and is wound at ≥700°C temp. to a hot rolled coil. This coil is pickled to remove scale, and is cold rolled to the final thickness. The steel sheet is plated with molten Al by an NOF molten Al dipping device by heating to ≥850°C temp. This steel sheet contains very small quantities of impurities such as C, N causative of quench aging, and has excellent workability because residual C is fixed with Ti, and has excellent oxidation resistance because of Cr contained.
