Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve lamp efficiency as well as to decrease thermal loss in the electrode by preventing the lamp edge part from blakening in such a way that an elliptic recessed part is formed in the middle part of electrode mount, and a filament is held therein.
CONSTITUTION: An elliptic recessed part 9 is formed in the middle part on the upper surface of electrode mount 1 formed by lead glass, etc., an electrode 7 is formed by tightly fixing a filament 6 on electroconductive wire 5 in this recessed part. The filament 6 is shaped surrounded with glass bulkhead by this elliptic recessed part 9, loss around the heat is abated, and the lamp edge part is prevented from blackening. This facilitates to improve lamp efficiency, and to extend its life.
