Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the shortening of life owing to the irregular distribution of temperature and to dissolve the reduction of efficiency by defining the diameter of elemental wire for single coil filament at more than 0.1 mm and the relation between the diameter of wire and distance between coiled wire.
CONSTITUTION: In halogen electric bulb in which single coil filament 32 of tangsten wire is contained in bulb 31 and both ends of it are connected with terminal fittings 35 through metal foil conductor 34 sealed in crushed sealing portion 33 of both ends of bulb 31, the said filament 32 is formed to have the relation of 2.0≤P/D≤3.5 where D is diameter of elemental wire 36 and P is distance between elemental wire 36. According to this method, by defining P/D as above-cited, it is possible to prevent the shortening of life owing to the irregular distribution of temperature in filament 32 while maintaining sufficient efficiency for actual usage.
