Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat all organics present in waste water by the procedure in which residual undecomposed organics treated biologically are decomposed into easily decomposable organics by a solubilizer and then returned to a circulating tank.
CONSTITUTION: The waste water 18 containing organics which are hard to decompose biologically is passed through the circulating tank 1 and treated biologically in the aeration tank 3, and then the treated water 4 is separated into the sludge 5 and the discharge water 6 by the sedimentation tank 7. The sludge 5 is concentrated by the concentrating tank 10 and then the concentrated sludge 8 is fermented in the methane fermentation tank 13 and then separated into the sludge lump 11 and the supernatatant 12. The sludge lump 11 is supplied to the dehydrator 16 to separate it into the dehydrated sludge 14 and the supernatant 15, and then supernatant 9, the dehydrated liquid 12, and the separated liquid 15 are supplied to the ozone-supplied tank 17 where the organics which are hard to decompose biologically are decomposed into easily decomposable organics. The organics so treated are sent with the liquids 9, 12, and 15 back to the circulating tank and further sent with the fresh waste water 18 to the aeration tank 3. These processes are repeated.
