Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent sea water, salt or the like from adhering to loaded cargo, by providing a shielding structure which comprises a movable support frame and a cover for shielding a deck and can be opened and closed and by providing a means for introducing air into the shielding structure.
CONSTITUTION: Arch-shaped struts 2 are set up on bulwarks 4 on the deck 3 of a farge 1. The struts can be slid with bottom rollers 5 on the bulwarks. The struts 2 are surrounded by a shielding cover 6. The struts 2 are connected to one another by a wire rope 10. The foremost strut 2 and a strut 8 for a front shielding cover are connected to each other by the wire rope 10. Another wire rope 11 is attached to the rearmost strut 2a and wound on a winch 14 and pulleys 12, 13 attached to a cover door 10 and the strut 8. Air leakage prevention skirts 15 are attached to the bulwarks 4 and located in contact with the inside of the shielding cover 6. Air is introduced into the space under shielding cover 6 by an air injection means.
