Abstract

The container carrier has a water ballast tank covering part of the hold, which is furnished with a water inlet and pump-out facilities. The container holds are furnished with a movable deck, fitted with vertical guides to allow movement in the vertical plane. The ballast tank is located along the sides and the bottom of the vessel in several compartments along the length of the vessel. The hold deck may be raised to the level of the unloading quay.
