Abstract

PURPOSE: The automatic mold making machine which comprises providing a laterally travellable blow magazine to the lower part of the upper platen provided with an automatic metering device for mold sand and a blow device, and which is capable of rapidly packing a specified amount of self-curing sand into a molding flask.
CONSTITUTION: A blow magazine 1 is moved on a rail 4 by operating a lateral travel cylinder 10 and is let to stand by in a material replenishing position C. Respectively the specified amounts of mold sand and binder are charged into the magazine from a measuring hopper 23 and measuring tank 25. Thence, these are kneaded while the mixing paddle in the magazine is being rotated by driving a motor 7 and at the same time the magazine is moved to the material blow position D. The flask 29 which is standing by on a table 2 is moved upward by the operation of an elevating cylinder 28 and the openings 6, 6 being held contacted to the flexible member 19 of the magazine blow port are pressure-contacted to pressure-contact heads 18, 18, after which a shutter 17 is opened to force-feed the kneaded sand into the flask 7 while pressurized air is being blown through a blow valve 14.
