Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the hot coil with few crack flaws, by blooming under specified conditions to prepare the slab, and by heating while taking means of restricting the oxidization. CONSTITUTION:The ingot is kept at temperatures 1000-1200 deg.C while being rolled; and this ingot is bloomed into the slab with the draft percentage, 3% per one pass; when this draft percentage is summed up for whole passes to 40%, the blooming work is finished. When the slab is heated, the front and back surfaces of the slab are covered with protector plates which protect the slab from the high temperature internal atmosphere of the heating furnace. That is, the slab 1 of invar alloy is placed on the back surface protector plate 2 being laid on the support beam 10, and the front surface of the slab 1 is covered with the front surface protector plate 3; under these conditions, the slab 1 is conveyed within the heating furnace. As the means of restricting the oxidization due to the heating, it is also effective that the front and back surface of the slab are applied with the heat resisting paint on purpose to prevent the high temperature oxidization. Hereby, the oxidization speed of the slab surface is slowed down, and the thickness of generated scale layer becomes thin.
