Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance dimensional accuracy and improve the yield of product and rolling efficiency by changing the screw-down distribution of each stand of the later-stage 3 stands excluding the final stand along with progression of rolling thereby controlling plate crown and simultaneously performing controlling of the plate crown and shape in the final stand.
CONSTITUTION: The screw-down distribution modes of all stands are determined based on the target plate crown Cset by a main computer 1 and the screw-down position of every stand is outputted to screw-down devices 4 and the numbers of roll revolutions are outputted to drive motors 5, whereby set-up is accomplished. Next, the rolling material 2 is rolled and the profile after the rolling is measured with a profile meter 11. In a comparing arithmetic device 12, the difference ΔCst between the calculated and actual crowns Cst and Cset of the plate crown is calculated and further whether rough or fine adjustment is needed or not is deviced. In the case of rough adjustment, roll wear and thermal crown are calculated and the total draft of the rear-stage 3 stands is calculated by the main computer 1, thence the entire stand screw-down distribution is re-calculated and is outputted to the screw-down devices 4 and motor 5. In the case of fine adjustment, the optimum FDT is determined by the computer 1 based on the rolling material temperatures in the finishing inlet and outlet side thermometers 9 and 10.
