PURPOSE:To let mounting and dismounting of roll and universal joint be readily accomplished by hooking a mounting-dismounting claw in the circumferential groove of a coupling member, sliding this member in the axial direction thence engaging or disengaging the protrusions for claw clutch between the member and yoke. CONSTITUTION:The mounting-dismounting claw of the mounting-dismounting device not illustrated is hooked in the circumferential groove 20 of a coupling member 13 and the member 13 is slided in the axial direction, by which the protrusions 9, 12 for claw clutch between the member 13 and yoke 5 are engaged or disengaged. Thereby, the mounting and dismounting of a roll 1 and double Cardan type universal joint 3 may be readily executed. The movement amount of the coupling member 13 can be an extremely slight movement amount equal to the axial protruding amount of the protrusions 9, 12 and therefore in such a case when the spacing between the two rolls arraying in the axial direction is extremely small as with, e.g., parallel mills or the like, the mounting and dismounting of the coupler may be readily accomplished.
