CONSTITUTION: The vertical magnetic recorder consists of the substrate 11, permalloy 12, vertical magnetic recording media 13 consisting of the Co-Cr having easy magnetizing axis vertically, and thin film 15 of ferromagnetic substance or ferroelectric substance adhered to the media 13. The light from the light source 17 is projected to the vertical magnetic recorder 16 from the light source 17 via the spot position adjusting mirror 18, and reproduction is made by sensing the reflection light subject to electrooptical operation with the thin film 15 of ferromagnetic substance or ferroelectric substance adhered to the vertical magnetic recording thin film 13 by means of the photodetector 19.
