With the progress of the rolling work, the arithmetic unit 32 operates the load deviation ΔP at that moving distance from the output of the external setter 26, correspondingly to the moving distance of the rolled material 10 being measured by the measuring device 30; and this load deviation ΔP is inputted to the controller 24. This load deviation ΔP is added to the reference load FL to be the output of the memory unit 22 by the adder 34; the output of this adder 34 is taken as the new reference load to be used by the controller 24 for executing the successive control. According to this method, the rolled product possessing the thickness change corresponding to the longitudinal thickness change of the rolled product being set in the external setter 26 can be manufactured.
