Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the linearity and temperature stability by means of a digital automatic gain adjusting circuit employing a programmable attenuator.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate frequency signal proportional to an input wireless frequency level of an intermediate frequency band filter 6 is attenuated with a programable attenuator 21, amplified with an intermediate frequency amplifier 7 and detected with a detector 8. A voltage comparator 21 compares the output voltage of the detector with the set value and then, by discrimination signal an up/down counter 23 performs an up/down counting to control the attenuation level of the programable attenuator 20. The output of the counter 23 presents an input level of the wireless frequency, serving as measured value of the electric field intensity.
