Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a detecting device with durability and with a simple structure by providing an electrically contactless detecting unit in the liquid-tight container fixed to either the fitting part of hull or the propulsion unit and by attaching an operation lever pivotally to the container.
CONSTITUTION: The detecting device 30 consists of the liquid-tight container 31 that is fixed to the inside of the crank bracket 10, detecting element 32 that has a disc magnet 321 and an electromagnetic conversion element 322, and operation lever 34 that is fixed to the outside of the axis 33 rotatably mounted on the container 31. Moreover, the torsion spring 343 that energizes the operation lever 34 upward is installed between the base 341 of the lever 34 and one side of the container 31. When the propulsion unit 20 is turned, the operation lever 34 held below the swivel bracket 22 is turned, the output voltage produced by the electromagnetic conversion element 322 mounted on the bracket 22 is changed. The change of voltage is displayed on the inclination indicator at the steering seat.
