Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce rotation inertia and decrease the stop angle of the captioned press by connecting the eccentric part of the crank which is so arranged that the eccentric part is rotated horizontally by perpendicularly supporting the drive shaft of the crank and the slide of the press by means of a connecting rod.
CONSTITUTION: When a crank 8 rotates together with a flywheel 6, the ball head 15a of the connecting rod 15 having an eccentricity amount α from the centerline C of a crankshaft 8a rotates horizontally, causing the connecting rod 15 to make precession. At this precession, toggle motion is given to a slide 10 by having a stroke S, by which the toggle effect is developed. Since this press is simple in mechanism, the number of parts may be considerably reduced as compared to conventional knuckle press and the decrease in rotating portions results in decreased rotating inertia, due to which the slide angle of the press may be decreased and maintenance made easier.
