Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a fluid transport device, highly resistant to tension and bending, which combines the function of mooring, by forming a fluid-passing pipe in each universal joint itself which connects pipes and making the universal joint itself constitute a part of the fluid transport pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The fluid transport device connecting mooring base 1 and moored material 3 is constructed of a plurality sturdy pipes 4 connected by a plurality of universal joints 5. The main components of each universal joint 5 are a pair of yokes 6, connecting ring 13 and intermediate ring 9. Yoke 6 is provided with two-prong fork 6a and cylindrical part 6b. Cylindrical part 6b is provided with hole 7, which is connected to the opening of sturdy pipe 4. Further, two-prong fork 6a is provided with outward projecting trunnion 8 at its end. Trunnion 8 is fitted into the hole of intermediate ring 9 via bearing 10 in such a manner that it can bend at any angle.
