Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the storage time of the main switching semiconductor element in the power conversion device and thus to shorten the turn-off time. CONSTITUTION:When main switching transistor Tr1 is on, the voltage is induced at primary winding N1 of main transformer 7. Here if the ON signal is applied to driving Tr2, diode 13 conducts along with additional winding N4 connected in series to input winding n1. Then the reverse bias voltage is applied between the base and the emitter of Tr1, and thus the reverse base current can be flowed assuredly to Tr1 if a sufficient amount of current is flowed previously to Tr2. After the storage time, Tr1 is turned off and with diode 13 also turned off. This reverse base current can be increased infinitely and theoretically, and accordingly the storage time of Tr1 can be reduced. As a result, the high-speed switching becomes possible to attain the purpose as desired.
