Abstract

PURPOSE:An under-coating composition excellent in coating workability, rust- proofing property, etc., containing phosphoric acid, thiourea, polyoxyalkyl phenyl ether, and polyalkylene glycols. CONSTITUTION:The under-coating composition contains 10-40% phosphoric acid, 0.5-10% thiourea, 0.1-1.0% a polyoxyalkyl phenyl ether, and 10-50% a polyalkylene glycol of a molecular weight of more than 10,000, represented by the formula R(A)n(B)m wherein R is a chemical compound having 1-3% active hydrogen, A is ethylene oxide, B is propylene oxide, n/m ratio is 10-90. If the content of polyalkylene glycol is 10% or less, the viscosity becomes low, but if it exceeds 50%, the dryability and workability become worse. Also, if the content of thiourea is 0.5% or less, the performance as under-coating material goes small and also if it exceeds 10%, no more effect is obtained and also solubility becomes less.
