Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain title composition which cures rapidly by the action of moisture and a small amount of a catalyst, by carrying out the addition reaction between an unsaturated group-containing polyoxyalkylene polyether and a specific organosilicon compound in the presence of a platinum catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A silicone-modified polyoxyalkylene polyether is produced by carrying out the addition reaction, in the presence of a platinum catalyst, between (A) an unsaturated group-containing polyoxyalkylene polyether of a molecular weight of 400W15,000, having, on a molecular chain end, an unsaturated group represented by formula I, wherein R1 is a bivalent hydrocarbon group and n is 0 or 1, and having a backbone consisting essentially of chemically combined repeating units represented by formula II, wherein R2 is a 1W4C bivalent hydrocarbon group and (B) an organosilicon compound having a hydrogen atom and an alkenyloxy group directly bonded to the silicon atom.
