Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the miniaturization of an apparatus and to increase the water making capacity of an apparatus for making fresh water from sea water used in a ship or the like by arranging a heating pipe and a condensing pipe at a predetermined place within a cylindrical can body divided into an evaporating chamber and a condensing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A heating chamber 5 and a condensing chamber is provided in a mutually comminucated condition at the upper portion thereof through a cylindrical partition 4 in a cylindrical tube body 1 and few stages of a ring shaped heating pipe 7 are arranged concentrically at a bottom portion of a ring shaped evaporating chamber 5 as well as a heating liquid chamber is formed at an opening portion through a heating liquid cover 8 and a heating liquid introducing and a discharging pipe 10, 11 are connected and provided to the heating liquid chamber. In a condensing chamber 6, plural condensing pipes 12 are arranged vertically on a bottom plate 3 thereof and provided with an introducing and a discharge pipe of sea water for cooling. An introducing pipe of sea water functioned as an evaporating liquid is opened to a can body 1 tangentially. Because a longitudinal direction of a condensing pipe 12 and a flow direction of vapors are same, the volume can be reduced, a vapor flow passage can be lengthened, the separation of accompained splash is carried out effectively and the heat conductivity is enhanced by the tangential introduction of sea water to be evaporated as well as an apparatus is miniaturized.
