Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound having excellent storage stability, antifouling property or the like and suiutable as a underwater fouling paint component easily by a mechanism wherein polimerizable unsaturated monobasic acid and acrylic vinyl monomer are copolymerized to obtain high acid value acrylic resin and this resin is reacted with an organotin compound.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable unsaturated monobasic acid such as acrylic acid, crotonic acid or the like and an acrylic vinyl monomer such as methyl (meth)acrylate, isobutyle (meth)acrylate or the like are compolymerized at the wt. ration so as to produce a polymer having the acid value 30W300, preferably 50W250 range. To the obtained high acid value acrylic resin, an organotin compound such as triphenyltin hydroxide, thriphenyltin chloride or the like is added and reacted at a reaction temperature of, preferably, 100W150°C for about 1W2hrs to the objective high molecular organotin compound.
