Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish a rational defrosting operation control through the control of the defrosting operation with a microcomputer by detecting the frosting state based on the relationship between the delivery port air velosity of the vane damper and the delivery duct in the air conditioner and differential pressure before and after the cooling coil.
CONSTITUTION: The relationship between the opening of a vane damper and the delivery air velocity of a delivery duct 11 and between the opening thereof and the differential pressure before and after the cooling coil 3 vary with the frosting state of the cool coil 3. Capturing the changes, the defrosting operation is controlled. In other words, the opening signal from a potentiometer 9, the differential pressure signal from a differential pressure detector 13 and the output signals each from a temperature detector 1 and an air velocity detector 14 are inputted to an arithmetic device 28 through a signal converter 27 of a microcomputer 26. The results are compared with the value stored in the memory 30 by means of a comparator 31 to determine the frosting condition. Based on the determination, a motor control panel 6, an actuator 8, changeover valves 20W23 and a flow control valve 24 is controlled to perform the defrosting operation.
