PURPOSE:To prevent the segregation of powdered ore and to make the degree of draft in section uniform and also, to improve the reduction ratio and yield, by providing conical raw material distributor against each raw material feeding tube relatively just under the raw material feeding apparatus of shaft type reducing furnace. CONSTITUTION:The conical raw material distributor 20 is provided against the raw material feeding tube 6 of shaft type reducing furnace relatively. Bottom outer diameter of the distributor 20 is made larger than the inner diameter of the tube 6. Ring diameter of the ring-shaped segregation layer 9 dropping near the wall of the tube 6 by segregation, is made large by the distributor 20 and segregation concentration is decreased and at the same time, descending powdered ore is spread and distributed over the surrounding part 24 by the accelerated reducing flow 23 rising up in the furnace and the gas flow 22 escaped from the vacant space part 21 just under the distributor 20 etc. Thus, the degree of draft is made uniform in section and uniform reducing reaction is carried out and then, yield of product is able to improve because reduced iron having uniform reducing ratio, is obtained.
