Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically roll plural splines of different specifications without exchanging of rolling racks with one machine by detecting the different center hole depths of the shaft-form work and corresponding the specified working position to the rolling rack. CONSTITUTION:In the case of two kinds of working, center hole depths at one end of the work are beforehand set at two kinds. Now, the work W of a deep center hole is supported to shafts 4a, 4b and limit switches LS1, LS2 are operated by the advance of a device 3. As a result, selection requiring working by racks 17a, 17b is accomplished to the work having been carried in. The detection signal thereof causes a cylinder 14 to slide a spindle 7 to correspond the working position of the work to the foregoing rack. A switch LS3 checks this and operates one of the foregoing racks in the direction orthogonal to the axial line of the work and the splines are rolled by the relative movement of the racks. When the work of a shallow center hole is supported, it is corresponded to a racks 18a, 18b by checking of the switch LS1 and the splines are rolled in the same manner as above by checking of the switch LS4.
