Abstract

PURPOSE: To diminish the fluctuation of tracting power of vehicle by using a shunt or compound motor as the driving motor of the vehicle and controlling the electric current in the separate excitation coil on the basis of the mean value of the armature current.
CONSTITUTION: Driving motors 11W1n are adapted to be supplied with source voltage from a thyristor device 2 via smoothing reactors 31W3n. The separate excitation coils 41W4n of the motors are connected in series and are supplied with boosting current from a thyristor device 5. The armature currents of the motors are detected by means of current transformers 61W6n and is delivered to a calculator 10 for making an arithmetic operation to calculate the mean value. On the other hand, a pattern generator 11 receives a signal representative of the wheel speed. The output from the pattern generator 11 and the output from the mean value calculator 10 are applied to a function generator 8 whose output is delivered to an adding point 12. The output from the adding point 12 is amplified by an amplifier 13 and is used for the gate control of the thyristor device 5.
