Abstract

PURPOSE: To form good quality images having no uneven densities through one component type developing processing by charging the conductive surface of a photosensitive drum to voltage of polarity opposite from that of the electrostatic latent images formed on photoconductive surface.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic brush by one component base toner such as of magnetic toner or the like applied with voltage of polarity opposite from that of the electrostatic latent images of the photoconductive portion 8 of a photosensitive drum 8 is formed on the sleeve 16 of a developing device 12 which is built in with a magnet roll 17. On the other hand, the conductive portion 10 of the drum 8 connecting to this electrode 19 via protecting resistances 20, 21 is also charged to polarity opposite from the electrostatic latent images and therefore the rise of charging of the magnetic toner forming the magnetic brush is made faster and the leakage of charging charges is prevented. Thereby, the latent images are well developed and good quality images free from uneven densities formed. If the voltage of same polarity of the latent images is applied to the conductive portion 10, good cleaning may be accomplished.
