Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain images of high sharpness in the image end parts by controlling electric fields at the time of developing electrostatic latent images by using a one- component developer, applying AC bias and utilizing the flying phenomenon of the developer.
CONSTITUTION: Zinc oxide photosensitive paer 10 and a conductive rubber belt 12 carrying the developer 15 agitated and stuck by a fur brush 20 are opposed statically to each other. First, the alternating electric field of the intensity at which the toner transfers in one way from the toner carrying body to the image part only is applied to the developing section through metallic rollers 13, 14, thence the low frequency alternating electric field at which the transfer of the toner and the reverse transfer of the toner to the toner carrier are repeated alternately in both of the toner carrier and the nonimage part and the image part is applied and finally, the alternating field at which the toner transfer occurs between the toner carrying body and the image part and the reverse transfer is occured between the nonimage parts is applied. It is equally well to control the intensity of the electric fields by controlling the distance between the toner carrying body and the photoreceptor.
