Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide feed for freshwater fish having high feed efficiency, containing chlorophyll.
CONSTITUTION: Chlorophyll is added to the feed of freshwater fish such as carp, tilapia, etc. The chlorophyll is prepared by extracting from various chlorophyll- containing plants, or a chlorophyll-containing plant such as chlorella is used as it is without treatment. The amount of the chlorophyll is about 0.05W1%, pref. about 0.1%, in case of feeding of tilapia. It is preferable to mix the predetermined amount of the chlorophyll to the nutrious components such as bone meal, oyster shells, lime, fish meal, chrysalis meal, chicken meal, soybean meal, wheat flour, vitamins, minerals, casein, etc. The addition of chlorophyll promotes the growth of fish.
