Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce roll changing time with the safe work by integrally engaging and lifting the housing head part and roll bearings.
CONSTITUTION: At the roll changing, first the hydraulic bolts 5 of a mill housing 1 are opened to the right and left. The upper roll chock 7, center roll chock 8 and lower roll chock 9 contained in the mill housing 1 are integrally engaged by the lifting 16 rotatably connected to a cap 3 by means of pins and a lift engaging with the roll bearings is provided to the other end of the lifting 16. Hence, if the cap 3 is lifted by a crane 20, the roll chock assembly integral with parts such as screw-down screw, screw-down nut, carrier bar etc. is hoisted out.
