Abstract

PURPOSE: To let the relations between the movement quantity and focal length of the lens or the subject distance become directly proportional by modulating a fixed speed command signal by the driving position of the lens thereby changing the speed command.
CONSTITUTION: In the lens driving device which is so arranged that the movement of the lens is defined by a lens driving member and that the lens driving member is made rotation-drivable by a servo motor based on speed command signal, a servo motor 12 is not driven at a fixed speed and its moving speed is increased at the wide end to increase the movement quantity per unit time and conversely its moving speed is lowered to decrease the movement quantity per unit time on the telephoto side by forming the speed command output MSI having focal length-moving speed characteristics with a speed command control circuit 15 and modulating the fixed speed command signal SI by the position detection signal. Thereby, the image plane may be changed by natural movement.
