Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of controlling flow rate of slurry, which is capable of controlling the amount of slurry ejected to the outside from a nozzle without stopping the slurry flow, by providing a flow meter on the outlet side of a pump and controlling the flow rate of slurry by reducing the revolutional speed of said flow meter.
CONSTITUTION: Slurry is carried to nozzle 12 while being compressed by a positive displacement pump 1 and ejected to the outside from nozzle 12. Here, a portion of slurry discharged from pump 1 is returned to the inlet side of pump 1 via flow meter 4 disposed in return pipe 3. This flow meter 4 is designed to be turned by the dif- ferential pressure of slurry and is provided with a brake for suppressing its rotation. Therefore, flow rate of slurry can be controlled from the outside and amount of slurry ejected to the outside from nozzle 12 can be changed without stopping the slurry flow.
