CONSTITUTION:A method where a signal V' transmitted from a detection unit 4 that measures the length of machining gap 3 which is an object to machine is compared with a setting value or a target value V, according to the deviation E thereof, allowing to control the operation unit 2 of a servo motor, a pulse motor or other electrode feed configuration with a amplifier 1, is provided with a circuit 5 having a differentiation of deviation E and a phase conversion, a power amplifier 6, and an electric strain element or a magnetic strain element 7 that is secured with said operation unit 2. Then, said deviation E is differentiated by the differentiation phase converting circuit 5 to give a variation D, further allowing to develop the phase conversion to excite the magnetic strain element 7 by the voltage proportional to -D to make expandably or contractively in a machining gap direction.
